硫氰酸盐是唾液中正常成分,它的研究始手1814年,以后陆续有很多的研究报告。早期由于测定方法的不同,其含量变异较大。但有一事实,即唾液中硫氰酸盐浓度高于血清中十几倍乃至几十倍,说明唾液腺具有合成或浓缩硫氰酸盐的能力。硫氰酸盐也是机体对氰化物解毒代谢产物,在唾液中测定硫氰酸盐含量,也可能反映机体摄入氰化物的水平。目前,对唾液中硫氰酸盐浓度的生理意义还不甚明了,多数认为与口腔内杀菌作用机制有关。最近曾有一篇(Boyland等)报导唾液中硫氰酸
