From July 15 to August 15, the Chinese astronaut center located in Beijing Aerospace City conducted a female head-to-head low bed-ridden experiment. This is the first time in our country to organize the study of women in simulated weightlessness physiological changes characteristics of the study as the goal of bed-ridden. The researchers hope that through this experiment, women’s basic changes in physiological activities in space-weight environment will be obtained, and the effectiveness and reliability of the corresponding protection methods will be verified. This experiment provides the experimental data for exploring the regularity of the physiological effects of weight loss in the on-orbit of China’s rendezvous and docking mission and on the application principles of female protective measures in orbit and evaluating the protective effect. All the volunteers who participated in the study were female college students from all colleges and universities in Beijing. Among the nearly 100 applicants, 22 volunteers entered the final bed-ridden experiment after several rounds of screening and review including various physical and psychological tests. In the experiment, all volunteers need to complete various daily activities such as eating, drinking, pulling and spreading on the bed. The successful completion of this experiment will strengthen awareness of the characteristics of women’s physical changes in space and lay the foundation for the first time that China will send female astronauts into space.
