喷丸处理也称为喷丸强化。对弹簧进行喷丸处理是提高弹簧使用寿命的有效方法之一。在弹簧制造业中得到了广泛的应用。喷丸强化的效果与弹丸的材料、硬度、尺寸、形状、速度质量和丸流量以及喷丸时间等有关,但是,当喷丸机与喷丸材料一经选定后,弹丸的材料硬度、速度等也就一定,此时影响喷丸的效果的主要因素,就变成为喷丸的持续时间和丸流量。喷丸持续时间与丸流量要足够,但时间过长,不仅是浪费,而且太长时间的弹丸冲击反而会使材料晶格严重错位,使弹簧疲劳强度降低。
