绿肥作物紫云英(又名红花草) 的播种,群众一般习惯用手撒播,即在晚稻收割前20天左右,用人工将红花草撒在稻田里。亩产可达2000千克以上,最高的亩产5000千克,极大地增加了土壤有机质含量,为夺取粮食丰产丰收奠定了基础。但是,人工撒播,劳动强度大,生产效率低,同时撒播不匀,出苗不齐,产量较低。基于此,浙江瑞安市农业服务站1990年在孙桥乡搞试点,利用农户除虫用的东方红-18型喷雾器,试播红花草500亩获得成功。1991年,该市农机部门在全市绿肥种植区大面积推广,7个机播专业队、50台喷雾器,仅用5天时间,机播红花草1.4万亩,不愧为浙南农史上的
