全球经济危机爆发后,加拿大共产党多次阐明自己的立场和主张,指出:此次危机不仅仅是新自由主义政策本身的失败,更是资本主义制度自身运行的必然结果;资本主义应对危机的措施是为了转嫁危机,并利用危机攫取更多的利益,维护资本主义制度;危机虽仍未完全过去,但其深刻影响及五个普遍性特征已经充分显现;危机充分暴露了资本主义制度的历史局限性,表明了用社会主义替代资本主义并最终实现共产主义的迫切需要。在此基础上,加拿大共产党进一步阐明了其主要任务及斗争策略。
