Objective: To understand the epidemiological characteristics of childhood paracovirus (hMPV) in Jiangsu Province in recent years and to explore the role of thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) in wheezing children with hMPV infection. Methods: A retrospective analysis of 372 children with hMPV lower respiratory tract infection admitted to Department of Respiratory Department of Children’s Hospital Affiliated to Soochow University from January 2009 to December 2014 was retrospectively analyzed. Serum levels of TSLP, IL-1 and IL-6 were detected by ELISA in 35 children with pneumonia with simple hMPV infection and wheezing, 15 children with pneumonia without wheezing infection and with wheezing pneumonia in 34 other patients -4 and IL-2 levels. Results: The detection rate of hMPV in children with lower respiratory tract infection was 2.75%. The detection rate was the highest in 2010, the highest in spring and the lowest in autumn. The peak value of hMPV was detected from February to May of each year% , 5 years old higher detection rate. The levels of plasma TSLP and IL-4 in children with pneumonia complicated with MPV infection and wheezing were significantly higher than those without hpV infection in non-wheezing patients and children with wheezing without MPV infection (all P <0.05). Conclusion: The detection rate of hMPV fluctuated in each year in Suzhou, the detection rate of children within 5 years old was higher, and the detection rate was the highest in spring. h MPV infection can cause TSLP expression increased, may be related to Th2 immune hypersensitivity and wheezing.
