In 1963, Mpamba, a third-year student at Maganba Junior High School in Tanzania, discovered by chance that hot milk and cold milk were put into the refrigerator at the same time. Hot milk had already become ice, and cold milk was a very thick liquid. There was no freezing. This phenomenon made Mpemba very surprised! He went to consult a physics teacher. The teacher’s answer was: “You must be mistaken. Such a thing is impossible.” “In high school, he took it again. Asking the physics teacher about this problem has not yet received a satisfactory answer. Shortly afterwards, I met an excellent opportunity — Dr. Osborn, Director of the Physics Department of the University of Dar es Salaam.
