The data-space fusion step at 4-time helps to characterize the position in the target state space where the target is more likely to exist (sounding crossover, represented by the off-white plane in the cell in Figure 8) given a measurement time Observations. This method is still unable to rule out the double nature of false alarms, detection failures, or multiple goals. These dualities are solved by interconnecting fusion data from successive measurement times.
