There is growing evidence that the amount and composition of plaque is directly related to the health of the periodontal tissue and that the rates of plaque formation vary among individuals. The aim of this paper is to compare the aggregation of the supraginggoristic plaque microorganisms with rapid and slow plaque formation by scanning electron microscopy (SEM). MATERIAL AND METHODS: Forty-nine healthy volunteers were selected and tested by means of experimental gingivitis. The average plaque index (PI) was calculated. Five plaque samples with the highest mean PI were screened out as standard. The lowest average PI of 6 PIs was plaque formation. Eleven subjects (8 males and 3 females) were screened for a series of prophylaxis and oral hygiene
