Jazz这个名词对我们来说并不陌生,因为它就是汉译的“爵士乐”。虽然它不产生于中国,但许多人——不论大人,还是孩子,对它都有不同程度的了解和喜爱。在美国音乐史上,20世纪的20年代被称为爵士乐时代。爵士乐其实是一种城市民间音乐,美国南部的新奥尔良是爵士乐诞生的摇篮。最初的爵士音乐多用在巫道祭礼仪式上,它是生活在新奥尔良市的黑人们所遵循的一种生活习俗。特别是在黑人家庭中举行葬礼时,人们总会请来黑人吹鼓手组合的乐队演奏。他们所演奏的以宗教性赞美诗及灵歌居多,当时又被称为巫道音乐。但在葬事结束后回家的路上,为了使人们的步伐轻松些,他们也演奏节奏热烈
The term Jazz is no stranger to us because it is translated as “jazz” in Chinese. Although it does not originate in China, many people, both adults and children, know and love it to varying degrees.
