There are many overlapping words in Thai, such as “■ ” (= ■ simple) “■ ” (= ■ simple) However, it rarely appears in literary works. By comparing the effect of using Chinese and Thai double-syllable words, the article finds out the similarities and differences in the effect of Chinese-Thai double syllable words and helps Thai learners to understand Thai overlapping syllables and to use them accurately.
