“Kishkin Gali” is the designation of those who, until recently, were still living in the south of Cape Stew and around the Baris river. When I conducted a field survey from 1958 to 1960, most of them were living 30 miles from their hometown. Their native town, Nyingda, established a government at the Liverpool estuary in 1957. The northeastern Algerian people belonged to the “Bretons” of Kisumu Gali. Warner included these people in the eight tribesmen who called the Mencius. Although he admitted that they had a very different language from the other tribes and was linguistically related to the tribes in the west, he had kinship with other Mennonite tribes. This system of kinship is not based on cousin interlacing
