The AL-31F is a force-enhanced turbofan engine with a thrust-weight ratio of eight. At present, based on this engine, the Ricardo Design Bureau developed the AL-31FP engine with thrust vectoring nozzle and used it on the Su-37 and Su-30MK aircraft, which resulted in better maneuverability of both aircraft
