旱金莲又名金丝莲、荷叶花、旱莲花等,为旱金莲科旱金莲属多年生蔓性草本植物,茎蔓生,肉质,中空。叶形如碗莲,叶互生,具长柄,圆形或近肾形盾状,边缘有波状钝角。花单生于叶腋,花梗细长,单花顶生,花5瓣,花萼5片,基部联合成筒状,花冠左右对称,花具香味,花色有紫、橙、红、乳白或杂色。
