李鹏总理在七届人大三次会议的政府工作报告中指出:要“进一步加强审计、统计、物价、工商管理和经济信息系统的建设,发挥它们在宏观调控中的作用。”这再一次明确了统计工作在国家经济管理中所处的重要地位。加强统计工作,发挥统计在国民经济宏观调控中的作用,对于实现治理整顿目标,保持国民经济长期持续、稳定、协调发展具有十分重要的意义。从吉林省的情况看,应该说各级统计部门在提供统计信息、加强调查研究、开展统计分析、搞好咨询服务、积极参与领导决策方面,确实发挥了很重要的作用,成为各级党委和政府在决策中的一支重要依靠力量。去年,我省治理整顿取得了初步成效,工农业生产取得了比较好的成绩,是与统计部门的努力工作分不开的。
