血红素加氧酶(HO)是一种降解血红素的限速酶,它能催化血红素降解生成一氧化碳(CO)、胆绿素和游离铁离子。大量证据表明HO-1及其催化产物具有抗炎、抗氧化损伤、抗增生等功能,具有细胞保护作用,能使细胞产生对伤害性刺激的适应和保护性作用。炎症反应是大多数疾病共同的病理特征,研究HO与炎症的关系将为炎症性疾病的治疗开辟新的途径。
Heme oxygenase (HO) is a rate-limiting enzyme that degrades heme, which catalyses the degradation of heme to produce carbon monoxide (CO), biliverdin, and free iron ions. Numerous evidences indicate that HO-1 and its catalytic products have anti-inflammatory, anti-oxidative and anti-proliferative functions and have cytoprotective effects that enable cells to adapt and protect nociceptive stimuli. Inflammatory reaction is a common pathological feature of most diseases. Studying the relationship between HO and inflammation will open up new avenues for the treatment of inflammatory diseases.
