According to the analysis of the Applications for National Key Ancient Books Protection Institutions submitted by 126 ancient books collecting institutions,there are still many problems in the longterm preservation of Chinese ancient books.The ancient books are damaged quickly and badly,and the conservation environment for ancient books needs to be improved urgently.The causes of these problems are various,including weak consciousness,limited knowledge of ancient books protection and poor management.Therefore,it is necessary to take a comprehensive consideration of talent cultivation,fund investment,investigation and supervision,etc.
