Recently, an essay named “Onstage and Downstage” sent by Lu Weizheng, a teacher from Zhejiang Shaoxing Senior High School, attracted the attention of the editorial department. This composition caused a lot of controversy among the teachers of the school. Some teachers think that the article gives people a sense of novelty and strangeness, with the imprint of contemporary society and culture, and some innovation; some teachers think that the author’s Although imaginative, imagination is not logical and almost absurd. The tendency of language entertainment shown in “Beginning and Under the Table” is quite representative in student writings. Students’ choices in language and even content are actually the choices of their aesthetic abilities and tastes; whether this choice is an intentional pursuit of fashion alternatives or a deliberately hilarious lack of ideas? What are their purposes? Where can teachers comment on and guide such essays? To this end, we have published a set of commentary texts in the hope that we can answer the above questions and welcome readers to participate in the discussion.
