型腔模具采用电火花加工后表面产生由熔化层和热影响层组成的变质硬化层,其硬度极高,手工打磨抛光这层“硬皮”费工耗时,劳动强度较大。采用电化学修磨抛光法能较快地去除这层“硬皮”,并将原表面为▽4左右的电火花加工表面直接提高至▽8—9,抛光速度不受模具材料硬度影响,每平方厘米约需3分钟左右。经电化学修磨后的表面无任何机械划纹,可直接用500目以上油石或研磨膏进一步抛光很快获得▽9以上的光泽表面。实践证明用它来抛光型腔模的角部、根部、窄缝和沟槽以及复杂的型面比手工抛光可节省工时50—70%,是一种行之有效的模具抛光新方法。
