节俭是我国人民的一种美德。早在《周易》的《节卦六十》把当时人们对于节俭的态度分为三种:最好的是“甘节”,即甘于节俭,乐于节俭,把节俭作为“甘之如饴”的乐事;其次是“安节”,即虽然不能“甘节”,但能安于节俭,不追求豪华奢侈;最坏的是“苦节”,即不能“甘节”、“安节”,而把节俭当作一种苦事。《周易》的作者认为,这三种态度,必然产生三种不同的结果:“甘节,吉”——甘于节俭,前途是吉祥美好的;“安节,亨”(亨即享通,顺利)——安于节俭,做事会通达顺利;“苦节,贞凶”(贞即占卜,预测凶吉)苦于节俭,结果是不幸的。对于后一种态度,是“不节苦,则嗟苦”。就是说不能节俭,结果必定陷于贫困,弄得愁眉苦脸,唉声叹气的地步。《周易》的这种贵俭思想,是在长期的生活实
