Hydrogen sulfide (H2S) is a colorless gas with a foul smell. When inhaled in high concentration, it directly paralyzes the respiratory center and causes asphyxia immediately, causing “electric shock” death [1]. Over the years, cases of death from acute hydrogen sulfide poisoning have occurred from time to time, and have become one of the major causes of life-threatening accidents for operators [2-3]. In 2011, a serious incident occurred in a certain district of Shanghai along with a sewage pumping station construction worker who was poisoned by hydrogen sulfide and caused three deaths. To further sum up experience and lessons learned, special report is as follows.
