Much of the protein quality improvement in sorghum grain benefited from the work of Mohan et al. (1975) who discovered a partially dominant Opaque (O) gene that controls a soft, high-lysine endosperm . The purpose of this study was to describe the changes in seed characteristics, L-M endosperm protein fractions and electrophoretic mobility during the seed development of Opaque sorghum and normal sorghum.
