From June 1995 to December 1997, we performed 132 hepatic arteriography on 94 patients with primary liver cancer and found that there were 19 cases of hepatic arterial-portal venous fistula. Of the 19 patients, 10 had hemorrhagic esophageal variceal bleeding. Hepatic arterial embolization was used in the 10 patients and an immediate hemostatic effect was achieved.
