正视天然气资源的稀缺性我国的天然气资源就目前来看还是极为紧缺。天然气工业尚处于起步阶段,无论是勘探开发还是消费量及消费结构都与世界水平有较大差距,目前我国的天然气资源量占世界总资源量的4%,居世界第10位,而探明储量是占世界天然气总探明量的1.3%,仅居世界第20位。我国天然气在一次能源消费结构中的比重仅为2%左右,预计到2010年也不过6%,而世界平均水平已达23.5%。按照资源量、消费结构中的比重和在世界上的排位,电力和石油要比天然气要好得多,电力可以由石化能源和可再生能源转换得来,电力产量在世界上居第2位;而石油产量在世界上也位居第5位。
