Objective To understand the dark adaptation ability and visual field of long-distance freight transport drivers and possible problems, and provide reference for further population intervention research. Methods A total of 135 male long-distance freight transport drivers were randomly selected from three international logistics companies in Shanghai. The dark adaptation time was measured by YA-II dark adaptation test and 38 patients with dark adaptation time greater than 30 s were examined with the Octopus 101 visual field. And visual field index determination. Results The average dark adaptation time of 135 long-distance drivers was 32 s, of which 77 (57.0%) drivers had dark adaptation time. The visual field tests showed that of the 38 drivers with dark adaptation time> 30 s, 21 (55.3% The area of physiological blind spots enlarged, the mean defect value of 5 (13.2%) was large, and the loss of variance value of 10 (26.3%) was too large. There were 15 (39.5%) with varying degrees of visual field defect. Correlation analysis showed that there was a positive correlation between physiological blind spot area and average defect, while there was no significant correlation between dark adaptation time and physiological blind spot area and age, driving experience and body mass index (BMI). Between dark adaptation time and physiological blind spot area No significant correlation. Conclusions The long-distance cargo driver’s dark adaptability and vision are not optimistic. In order to better ensure driving safety, it is necessary to carry out regular visual function tests and take the necessary interventions.
