在先秦文学中,先秦盟誓文学是古代文学史初级阶段典型文体。在先秦时期,盟誓制度是当时那个时代的产物。在先秦文化中,《左传》《周礼》和汉、晋、唐注家对盟誓的大量记载,有利于当代文学钻研者对盟誓活动进行更加深入的了解。先秦时代,最能体现人们对自然、对祖先、对神灵的敬畏之情的事情就是盟誓活动。《左传·成公元年》记载:“叔服曰:背盟而欺大国,此必败。背盟不祥,欺大国不义,神人弗助?”正是因为对神灵祖先的敬畏,才会使统治者加强对各诸侯国的统治,巩固统一,壮大力量,促进各民族的融合。
