The separation of very fine-grained (5 μm) alumina and silica using liquid fluidized beds was studied. The bed material for the recovery of fine-grained minerals was 48 x 100 mesh quartz and corundum and was packed in a fluidized flotation column of 4.0 x φ7.5 cm.
