The Washington Post The U.S. Post May 11, 1979: For the first time, scientists here successfully transplanted healthy brain tissue into animals with brain deficits to correct serious motor disturbances. This amazing achievement, if repeated on more animals, could lead to a revolutionary new surgical approach to diseases caused by Parkinson’s disease and other brain chemical deficits.
