本文介绍了基于胆甾相液晶(CLC)材料的各种单层反射式偏振片。胆甾相液晶材料包含一个聚合物组分和其他非反应性液晶。通过一个聚合引发的分子重新分布而产生非线性的螺距梯度。这种偏振片在可见光部分(带宽400~1000nm)有很高的消光比。当调制在红外(IR)时,偏振片在波长700~2000nm范围内反射。另外本文还简单介绍了场控宽带偏振片,并对其应用进行了讨论。
This article describes various single-layer reflective polarizers based on cholesteric liquid crystal (CLC) materials. Cholesteric liquid crystal materials contain one polymer component and other non-reactive liquid crystals. A non-linear pitch gradient results from a polymerization-initiated molecular redistribution. This polarizer has a very high extinction ratio in the visible portion (bandwidth 400 to 1000 nm). When modulated at infrared (IR), the polarizer reflects in the wavelength range of 700-2000 nm. In addition, this article also briefly introduced the field-controlled broadband polarizer, and its application was discussed.
