综观城市公示语的汉英翻译,大多存在着不少问题,除了由于粗心大意造成的拼写错误和语法错误以外,还存在冗长、不统一、晦涩难懂等问题,公示语翻译这一独特领域翻译原则无人涉及、尚属空白。在这样的研究背景下,作者在本文中试提出公示语汉英翻译的原则,以指导翻译实践。
In general, there are many problems in Chinese-English translation of urban public signs. Apart from spelling mistakes and grammatical errors caused by carelessness, there are still some problems such as lengthiness, inconsistency and obscureness. Publicity signs translation is a unique field of translation No one involved in the principle, it is still blank. Under the background of this kind of research, the author tries to put forward the principle of Chinese-English translation of public signs in this article, in order to guide the practice of translation.
