Test plots were made at six sites in South Africa using a mix of Eu-calyptus grandis and E. saligna seeds from Australia. Twenty-five or forty-nine plots were used, repeated three times, using a standard 2.7 × 2.7 meter South African plant spacing. At 4 years old and 7 (3/4) annuals, the chest height diameter and tree height were measured in individual plots and the dryness was scored. Breeding timbers, hectares per hectare, and annual average growth were calculated using Breedkamp’s (1982) breast enlargement formula adapted to amplitudes of chest height and diameter of 20-40 cm. The Brinell formula is: LogV = -3.6537 + 1.3283Log (DBH-7) +1.1783 Log (HGT) where: V = peeled volume in cubic meters DBH = DBH in cm HGT = tree height in meters To sum up the provenance to be adopted in the future, we tried two statistical methods.
