东方红橘是柑橘优良新品种,果实扁圆球形,单果重80克左右,果面鲜红色,油胞细,果皮光滑,比砂糖橘、南丰蜜橘漂亮;果皮薄、易剥离,果肉脆嫩,浓甜化渣,少核,香气浓郁,含糖量高达17~20度,同砂糖橘一样好吃;果实在11月下旬成熟后,可留在树上到春节期间采摘鲜果上市,比砂糖橘、南丰蜜橘耐贮运;早果丰产性极强,当年种植的苗,第二年就可挂果,在丰产期,每667平方米产量可达3500千克以上;东方红橘无衰退病,高抗溃疡病、黄龙病,比砂糖橘、南丰蜜橘抗寒性强,是砂糖橘和南丰蜜橘的换代品种。其栽培技术如下:
