Explore the possible role of minerals in chemistry before life. The reaction involves the conversion of biological elements from inorganic to simple organic molecules. Three central issues are discussed in detail: ① the types of reactions that minerals may promote; ② the presence of minerals with catalytic potential early in the earth; and ③ a viable research strategy for assessing the role of minerals in pre-geo-chemical chemistry of life and method.
