企业的市场竞争力可以用五个目标加以定义。为了保持企业在市场中的生命力，设计部门起着关键的作用，因它对这五个目标都具有决定性的影响。设计部门只有通过设计管理，借助于现代化的方法，如并行工程、同时工程，才能完成这项使命。本文的主题就是研究在设计管理过程中为了对设计过程和设计资源进行规划和控制所采用的方法和辅助手段。
The market competitiveness of an enterprise can be defined by five goals. In order to maintain the vitality of the company in the market, the design department plays a key role as it has a decisive influence on these five goals. The design department can accomplish this mission only through design management and modern methods such as concurrent engineering and simultaneous engineering. The topic of this paper is to study the methods and aids used to plan and control the design process and design resources in the design management process.
