身为“两院”院士的王大珩,堪称中国现代光学及光学工程的主要学术奠基人、开拓者和组织领导者。他的卓越工作,极大地推动了中国光学研究及光学仪器制造,特别是国防光学工程事业的发展,促成了中国光学研究事业从无到有、从弱到强的历史性跨越。晚年的王大珩,更以推动制定高科技“863计划”的参与者、国产大飞机项目的倡导者身份而为人们所熟悉和敬仰。他还是23位“两弹一星功勋奖章”获得者之一。他的一生,见证了中国科学事业从探索、起步到走上高速发展道路的艰难而又辉煌的历程。
Wang Daheng, an academician of the “Two Academies,” is the leading academic founder, pioneer and leader of modern Chinese optics and optics engineering. His outstanding work has greatly promoted the development of China’s optical research and manufacture of optical instruments, especially the national defense optical engineering, and contributed to the historic leap from China’s optical research career, from weak to strong. In his later years, Wang Daheng was even more familiar and admired as an advocate for the participants in developing the high-tech “863 Program” and the advocate for the domestic large-scale aircraft project. He is also one of 23 winners of the Two Bombs and One Star Medal. In his lifetime, he witnessed the difficult and glorious course of China’s scientific career from exploring and starting to embarking on the path of rapid development.
