ATM在成功应用到WAN/LAN的同时,已把触角延伸到桌域网(DAN)。为了使桌域网适应高速多媒体通信的需要,本文介绍了正在研制和开发的一种新型桌域网互联接口(DANI-DANInterface)。包括它的内部设计、绕核进行芯片寄存器访问的能力和高吞吐量的DMA数据传送机制,这些新颖的特征是为了实现DAN和外部网络的ATM无缝相连,并达到尽可能小的信元传送延迟。
ATM has been extended to the desktop network (DAN) while successfully applied to WAN / LAN. In order to adapt the desktop network to the needs of high-speed multimedia communication, this paper introduces a new DANI-DANInterface which is being developed and developed. Including its internal design, its ability to access the chip registers around its core, and its high-throughput DMA data transfer mechanism. These novel features are designed to seamlessly link DAN to ATMs in external networks and to achieve the lowest possible cell transfer delay.
