In April 1980, the Federal Republic of Germany built a broadband seismic array in the Grfenberg region to record the fine structure of seismic waves in high-resolution, large dynamic range. Array was anti-L-shaped, about 80 km in length, a total of 13 sub-Taiwan, composed of three sub-array. The sub-array device is a monolithic seismometer, while the sub-array center is equipped with a three-directional seismometer. Single use to reduce the side-lobe array effect. Distribution interval of 10 to 12 km. The array is specifically designed to suppress coherent seismic noise that travels at a seismic facewave velocity in the mid-frequency range (0.05 to 0.5 Hz). Using a Swiss-made long-period seismometer, the output is digitized at a sub-station at a rate of 20 samples per second and transmitted asynchronously to sub-arrays using telephone cables
