公示语翻译错误目前可谓是遍地开花,触目惊心,户外广告就是其中的一个“重灾区”,而由于户外广告的巨大辐射和传播作用,错误译文造成的不良影响更加不容忽视。本文结合南京市的一些户外广告,指出此类语言环境在英文翻译上存在着拼写错误、用词不当、词不达意和中式英语痕迹明显等不规范之处,进而提出规范公共场所语言文字对于提升一个地区和一座城市的人文环境、促进和谐社会建设所能起到的重要作用。
Nowadays, the error of public signs translation is everywhere, shocking, outdoor advertising is one of the “hardest hit”, but due to the huge radiation and spread outdoor advertising, the wrong translation of the adverse effects caused more can not be ignored. Based on some outdoor advertising in Nanjing City, this paper points out that there are some irregularities in English translation such as spelling mistakes, inappropriate words, unidentified Chinese characters and traces of Chinese English in such language environment. The humanistic environment of a region and a city can promote the important role that the construction of a harmonious society can play.
