Study on the genesis of the contact belt faulting in Xihuashan Mountain by means of fracture mechanics. According to the detailed measured data, it is found that the mineral assemblages have higher fracture density and fracture strain. Comparing with the critical conditions for the extension of the group of mines, it indicates that the driving stress is increasing during the development of the group of mines. Expansion resistance increases, leading to a corresponding increase in the expansive force of the vein to maintain the extension of the vein, forming a mechanical condition for generating large vein-shaped deposits in the Xihuashan Mountain, which is different from the type of the veinlets formed in a homogeneous body.
