This paper presents the issue of expanding the range of applications of composite materials on the Arian carriers. This includes applications from the first generation of the Allian carriers to the fourth generation and the Arion 5, using materials such as carbon fiber reinforced plastics and fiberglass reinforced plastics. The article illustrates the progress made in this area and mentions some parameters such as weight, stiffness and cost. The use of these materials is a technical and industrial challenge and these are worth discussing. The exact examples given in this paper include: fracture criterion, orthotropic effect, thermal effect, unit cost and quality control. The article describes the work done in these areas and cites the results, but some issues remain unsolved; the author suggests further short-term and long-term work.
