1985-1988年,海峡两岸相继推出了三部“庄子试妻”戏剧。一部是奚凇的话剧《蝴蝶梦》(台湾《联合文学》1985/5),第二部是魏子云的京剧《新编蝴蝶梦》(台湾《联合文学》1988/3),第三部是徐棻、胡成德的川剧《田姐与庄周》(《剧本》1988/4)。1986年《蝴蝶梦》在台湾“当做国际艺术节的压轴大戏”,由胡金铨导演为“热闹非凡看了令人发噱的喜剧”,受到台湾文学家白先勇的好评。1987年《田姐与庄周》由成都川剧院在京上演,受到戏剧家曹禺的称赞。海峡两岸戏剧家不约而同地重新诠释与上演“庄子试妻”,成为中国当代戏剧舞台上相映生辉和可以比照的一个亮点。
From 1985 to 1988, three “Zhuangzi’s wife” plays were successively launched on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. One is Xi Xi’s drama “Butterfly Dream” (Taiwan’s “Unified Literature” 1985/5), the second is Wei Ziyun’s Peking Opera “New Butterfly Dream” (Taiwan “United Literature” 1988/3), and the third is Xu Mi and Hu Chengde’s Sichuan Opera Tian Jie and Zhuang Zhou (Scenario 1988/4). In 1986, “Butterfly Dream” in Taiwan, “as the finale of the International Festival of Arts,” directed by Hu Jin Quan as “a lively show gigantic comic” by the Taiwanese writer Bai Xianyong. In 1987, “Tian Jie and Zhuang Zhou” was staged in Chengdu by Sichuan Chuan Theater and was praised by dramatist Cao Yu. The dramatists on both sides of the Taiwan Strait invariably reinterpreted and staged “Chuang Tzu’s wife” and became a bright spot comparable to the contemporary drama stage in China.
