A survey of 60 contemporary art galleries in Beijing and non-profit art spaces found that most galleries are focusing on artists born in the 1980s, 70% of which have already signed or proxied their work. However, some galleries hold only a wait-and-see attitude toward young artists. They think it is too early to intervene in the art market for young artists because they have not yet developed a mature art style, and the collection groups are not clear and require a large amount of upfront investment. Although young people think that young artists have good techniques, they lack the experience of living and profound artistic connotations, and there are too few prominent ones in this field.
