东南亚各国组成的政治经济组织。简称“东盟”。前身是1961年7月31日由马来西亚、泰国和菲律宾3国成立的“东南亚联盟”。1967年8月7～8日,上述三国和新加坡、印度尼西亚五国外长在曼谷举行会议,发表《东南亚国家联盟成立宣言》,东盟正式成立。现在有泰国、马来西亚、菲律宾、新加坡、印度尼西亚和文莱6个成员国。其组织机构为:外长会议是最高决策机构,每年举行一次例会。秘书处是它的行政总部,另外 Southeast Asian countries, political and economic organizations.
