余光中先生认为散文诗属于一种“非驴非马”般的存在,这种观点几十年来成为许多人对于散文诗偏见的代名词。通过对中国和日本文学界存在的几种正面肯定散文诗的观点以及散文诗产生与发展历史的考察,分析回应了余先生的偏颇以及这种言论产生的背景,指出这种文体不仅属于诗歌文学发展历史的必然趋势,更进一步展望了散文诗由于其美学特质超越了简单的自由诗与散文的结合,必将发展成为聚各种文学、艺术的表现精华于一身,具有立体审美可能性的“大诗歌”文学。
