国际单位制是国际公认的、先进的单位制,使用国际单位制可以避免由于多种单位制并用而引起的混乱和不必要的换算,有利于国际科技交流和贸易往来。目前已有四十多个国家和许多国际组织采用了国际单位制,八十年代国际单位制将在世界通用。我国的基本计量制度是米制(即“公制”),根据国家计量管理条例第三条规定,将逐步采用国际单位制。当前,我国陆续参加了许多国际组织,加入了国际贸易市场,国际科技合作日益扩大,尽快采用国际单位制已是大势所趋。我国铁道部是华沙铁路合作组织成员,铁组已决定自1979年7月1日起采用国际单位制,因此,铁道部科技委根据国家国际单位制推行委员会第一次会议
The system of international units is an internationally recognized and advanced system of units. Therefore, the Science and Technology Commission of the Ministry of Railways will implement the first meeting of the Commission according to the State’s International System of Units
