清原县林业局按照林业部、辽宁省林业厅有关对森林分类经营试点地区的要求，结合本县自然、经济、经营等条件，兼顾森林作为全省的生态屏障与产业支柱两方面，制定了森林分类区划标准，其公益林与商品林的比例为３∶７左右。分类区划数据已建立档案数据库并与全县的地理信息系统（ＤＩＳ）联网，为林业分类经营管理工作的全面实施奠定了基础。
