However, due to the insufficient volume of future liver remnant and the frequent occurrence of post-operative liver failure, the mortality rate is high. There is still much controversy about the clinical application, surgical methods, cases choice of ALPPS. Therefore, more basic experiments and clinical cases are needed to explore postoperative rapid liver regeneration and its mechanism, indications, contraindications and scope of application of ALPPS.
