*每节约1度电,就相当于省下了0.4千克标准煤和4升净水,与此同时,减少了0.272千克碳粉尘、0.997千克二氧化碳、0.03千克二氧化硫和0.015千克氮氧化物等污染物的排放。如果每个家庭每月省下10度电,全国每年可节约用电450亿度,等于三峡水电站半年满负荷的发电量,可减排二氧化碳4500万吨。电视机、洗衣机、微波炉、空调等家用电器在待机状态下仍然在耗电,加在一起等于让一只30～50瓦的灯泡一直亮着。倘若全国有3.9亿户家庭在用电后拔下插头,每年可节电约20.3亿度,减排二氧化碳197万吨。

Household appliances such as televisions, washing machines, microwave ovens and air conditioners are still consuming electricity in standby mode, adding up to a light bulb of 30-50 watts. If 390 million households nationwide unplugged their plugs after electricity use, they could save about 2.03 billion kilowatt-hours annually and reduce 1.97 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions.
