“擦擦”,俗称小泥佛。其音是梵语的引用,大意是小型佛像之意。它是用凹型模具脱出来的模制泥造像,大者盈尺,小不足方寸,题材大多为佛、菩萨、度母、天王、金刚、高僧、佛塔等,其形象刻划入微,毫发必爽,是模制泥造像的神佛系列。 藏族人普遍信仰佛教,“擦擦”也毫无例外地属于佛教文化的产物,与玛尼石、经幡等组成系列和方阵,供奉在神山、圣湖、玛尼堆和转经路上,形成浓郁的宗教氛围,构成藏传佛教的奇特景象,以超现实的手法和象征力量表达现实的愿望。
