文化作为人类文明的载体,体现着人类丰富多样的生存方式和文明的完整性。但是随着科技的迅速发展、全球信息一体化的冲击,各个民族独有的文化、习俗逐渐被忽略。作为文化载体的非物质文化遗产受到巨大的冲击,有很多已经消亡,需要加快抢救步伐。从保护方略上来看,非物质文化遗产保护工作除了活态保护之外,还有着另一项重要的保护工作,就是记录与保存。基于摄影的实证特性,把非物质文化遗产活态的文化分类拍摄记录下来,作为文献流传百世,摄影在民族文化传承中发挥了重要作用与影响,而摄影艺术在民族文化中应用的最好一种表现形式便是民俗摄影了。
